I was very inspired after watching Loki and decided I wanted to make myself a pair of Loki horns. I tried once before to CAD a horn shape but I wasn’t sure if I would be able to attach a horn shape to a band. After some trial and error I did manage to make the 3d model.

When I printed the horns there were some supports in a tiny crevice so I used an X-acto knife to carefully cut them out. During this process I realized I was not happy with the width of the crevice so I sanded it down to make it just a bit wider.

I decided for this project to use XTC-3D resin to coat the horns because I wanted it to be as shiny and glossy as possible. Then I finished it off with two different gold paints and added an elastic to make it easy to wear.

I am really proud of how these Loki horns turned out. If I could change one thing (which I might since I hope to make a Sylvie based one) it would be to fix the band of my horns. I thought squaring off the edges would make it easier to wear but I now realize it was not necessary.
